Lainey Month 4

What a difference 1 year makes....last February we spent a week in amazing Hawaiian temperatures instead of this crappy cold stuff. Last year when getting ready for our hollidome family weekend I took my first pregnancy test. This year Lainey had her first swim in the pool at the hotel. Next year I imagine she will be running up and down the halls with all her cousins. Time really does just fly faster and faster by the day. Since Feb doesn't have a 29th this year Lainey's 4 month bday will be on the 28th and we will celebrate at Creative Bent getting her pictures taken. I can't wait!!! Jaimee is going along too. I have already scoped pinterest out for cute ideas and Anna always has something great up her sleeve. The month of Feb has brought many changes for our girl. She noticeably has more hair now and is spitting up a lot less. In Jan her sleeping pattern was sleep all through the night all the time. Now she wakes up twice a night to eat and it is just fine and dandy with me. #1 Her sleeping that long actually made me a bit nervous. #2 I had to either pump or was leaking like crazy by the time morning came so this is better. The non-interrupted hours of sleep were nice but how can you be upset to be woken up to this face....

Plus it gives us a good excuse for snuggling and naps on a regular basis! Lainey loves sticking her fist and all her toys in her mouth constantly. Lots of slobbering but no teeth yet. My mom said I got a toother at 3 months so who knows if she will be early too. She is now rolling over more and more. Belly to Back! Remember the very first time Rhett & I both missed it so it was very exciting the first time to watch. Grandma P, Daddy, Aunt Erin, and Aunt Jaimee all have gotten to see her do it too. She rolls onto her side often and just lays there gnawing away on her fist. We have a chatterbox now especially in the evenings. Love love making her smile and coo. At 15 weeks got our first giggle!!! I used to think she is happiest in the mornings but then the other day at 10 pm she was happy as a clam
too. We have an all around happy baby!!! Although for a while when waking up from naps Rhett & my Mom said she would be extremely upset for like 5 minutes. The tears rolling screaming upset. Poor baby. I wonder if she was having bad dreams....It happened one day to me as well and took me  a bit to calm her. The first swim was lots of fun! We only had 4 swimsuits to choose from. Ha! Luckily the 6 month one fit her. It was sooo cute. She was content as could be in the water. My Aunt Nancy said we have a little minnow on our hands. I have countless memories of swimming as a child because we grew up with a pool. I sure hope she loves to swim. Her swimming may be in a lake instead of a pool but either way can't wait. My dream is to eventually have an inground pool in our backyard.....Someday!! Going to work is getting easier but I still miss my little angel tremendously while gone. I know the quality time she gets with Grandma and Daddy is great. Rhett is so sweet with her.

Week 16 we noticed when laying on her back Lainey tries lifting her upper body up. I'm not sure where she thinks she is going but determined to do it. It kinda looks like she is doing an ab exercise. Such a strong girl! Also when laying on her tummy she moves around so much. I will lay her one direction and before you know it she has turned half a circle on the blanket. I have a feeling when the crawling comes I might cry. My cousin's baby is walking at 8 months. Ahhhhhh I don't even want to think about the walking. She also loves arching her back constantly now. We go for 4 month shots in less than a week and not looking forward to that at all. Breastfeeding and cloth diapers both going well still. Rhett thinks her butt looks so funny being big but I remind him saving $, saving $!!!! It may be a bit more work but I am extremely proud to say I'm a cloth diaper Mom. I'm sure you've all heard the saying "Don't cry over spilled milk". Well that is exactly what this momma did just the other day. I pumped at work and then literally spilled 3/4 of my milk all over the floor and wall. Talk about emotions running like crazy that day. Geeze Louise I was a mess. I know it was only like 5 oz but still...I know it has happened to other Moms and I'm sure it will probably happen to me again in the future but lets just hope not. After today off for the next 4 days so looking forward to no pumping and quality time with my girl!!

TA DA!!!!!
