Life As We Know it

Its been about 2 months since I last posted about my breastfeeding journey. I haven't been blogging regularly at all since Lainey was born but lets face their is always something else to be done. I think every mother out there knows their is never enough time in any day. I've been trying to work out at 5:30 am on Tue & Thurs because at least Lainey sleeps the whole time I'm gone. A lot has gone down in the month of January & February. My little muffin is officially 16 months old now. She had her 1st overnight stay at Grandma Phegley's @ 15 months 1 week old. Is it pathetic that my documentation in her baby book is that exact?? When I dropped her off around 8 that Fri evening she was sleeping. I heard she was a wild party animal until almost midnight. Played/slept in Uncle Alex's bed and had a popcorn party with all her stuffed animals. No tears from me which might come as a surprise but it actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to leave her for the night. More and more talking coming out of her sweet little mouth. Favorite word currently is definitely "NO". Anything you ask the answer is always no. She also loves animal noises moo, baa, neigh. When she says "roar" it is always in the quietest softest voice possible. We've been working on praying hands. (which is seriously so sweet to see her do) It is so fun when they discover and learn new things. Our newest favorite thing to do is say "How old are you Lainey?" She immediately throws one little finger up in the air so proud of herself and often proceeds with a clap. What a wonderful sight to see your child happy and carefree.

We enjoyed the wintry weather with snow ice cream, building snowmen outside and inside, and seeing Frozen on Ice. I was a tad nervous about seeing Frozen but she did great. It lasted two hours and only restless last 10 minutes of the show. I had no idea what to expect on Lainey's reaction because she honestly isn't into movies/TV shows yet. Now baby bum videos on you tube that's another story. Obsessed! My mom had purchased frozen glow sticks from DG and they worked just perfectly. Lainey was squealing, clapping, and waving her glow sticks like crazy. I was afraid they were going to go flying into someones head/lap a few times. Of course she had a special Frozen outfit to wear. Overall it was such a fun experience and surely won't be the last. My sister's birthday was the day before the show so we had a Frozen birthday celebration!

Several months ago our baby monitor magically disappeared. Rhett & I had both looked numerous times everywhere in search of it. I pretty much just came to the conclusion that it had gotten tossed in the trash by a cute little brown haired girl. A few days my Mom found it! Wasn't even looking for it and all of a sudden she seen it. The whole time it was nestled in the back of the high chair sitting in our kitchen. Boy was I excited when I came home and saw it sitting on the counter! The little things!

Also loves destroying my picture box while Mommy does the bills

We recently enjoyed a weekend away in Collinsville at the Comfort Inn hotel with the Simpson Family. We typically go in February sometimes it lands on Valentine's Day. The kids swim and run around like lunatics while the adults visit and relax. Its wonderful. Two years ago on that very weekend was when I discovered I was pregnant. I took a test that Friday and although it was probably as early as possible to know it was positive. That line was extremely faint so it made me a bit aprehensive. When I told Rhett in the vehicle on our drive there he just brushed it off saying it was way too soon to know. We were going to PBR in St. Louis that Saturday evening with Allie & Brandon. I could hardly contain myself and told Allie my news while in the buffet line at Ponderosa. (while we put salads on our plates) The thought now is just too funny. I remember the exact moment she told me her news when pregnant with Avrie. We were at work and she pulled me into the mammogram room. Busting at the seams of course!!! It really seems like it was just a moment ago that all that happened. This year at the hotel Lainey ran/played with her cousins, trips up and down the elevator, swimming in the pool (more like death grip to my arms). It was great while the snow came down like crazy we had no where to be but right there.

Looking forward to getting Lainey's Easter pictures done this upcoming week. Before we know it 18 months will be here and time for that session as well!!!!
