11 days & Counting

Including today their are only 11 more days till our wedding day......do  I really have to include today? Lets just say 10 days to go!!! Every day I can not wait to check the mail because our rsvp for the reception just keep coming! Yay!! Thank you everyone for sending them back. Even if you are NO please send back! I have my excel spreadsheet printed out and as each response comes I highlight the names so I can keep good track of my numbers. Yellow is for Yes and pink is for no. Yes I am a complete lunatic ocd bride. I only have less than a month left of wedding activities I have to milk it while I can. We have received several gifts in the mail this week. Including these adorable salt & pepper shakers from Rhett's cousin Sadie Donjon & her family. Thank You Thank you!

 

 

The UPS man also delivered this yesterday! Thank you so much to the group of people that gave us this gift. Their are a lot of names in the card including Simpson aunts, uncles, & cousins. New bar stools were much needed!! We plan to put the $ included in the card towards a 2nd stool. It is quite comfy and sturdy as well. Hoping we can use them for a loooooong time.

 

Rhett is leaving for Canada on Friday so we will be without each others company until Thursday Oct 4th. I am just praying he enjoys himself and returns on time with no issues. I'm sure that I will have no problems staying busy with last minute preperations. Here is a list of all the things needing to be done.

Whew that is exhausting just reading it all. Their is a lot more to do but right now that is all I can think of.

Gifts Galore

We received so many wonderful gifts at the bridal shower. Yes most of them are girlie and majority are kitchen related but Rhett will still reap the benefits. When I am cooking and baking him yummy recipes with all my new stuff! One thing I was most excited about getting was new kitchen towels/pot holders. The last time we got a whole slew of new ones was our housewarming party 3 years ago. Seems silly but that is something that I just don't ever buy. I organzied the drawers in the kitchen to make room for all the fresh bright new hand towels. It's funny when Rhett will dry his hands he goes for the old ones. The one day he said "they are too nice to use."Haha!!! Here are some lovely bath towels we received from our neighbors The Umbdenstock's. Love them!! Thank You! They are so fluffy too! I love personalized gifts!

All my friends from work hooked us up with amazing items. Brenda crocheted us an afghan.

Amy gave us a key ring holder.

Lindsay gave us a photo frame, the other Lindsey gave us an iron (def needed in the past & didn't have one), Jess & Kasey gave us $, Vickie gave us a photo frame,wine, and the cutest christmas ornaments ever, Ashley gave us an awesome cake pan (which I have already used 2 times), Sarah gave us cookie sheets & a pot holder, Allie gave us a framed picture that says SIMPSON.

The xray dept. as a whole is giving us a kitchen aid mixer. Can't wait to use that baby!!! Love love love all of my gifts from all of you. I am so blessed to have great co-workers. They really are like family members. Some of these friends have moved on and work somewhere else now. Some I still see all the time. Together we have been through divorces, marriages, babies, deaths, sicknesses, good days, bad days, happy days, sad days. They have all seen my fair share of tears! I just want to say Thank you to all of you for being a part of my life and sharing in my bridal shower. 

Another item I was really looking forward to was a juicer. I am a lot more conscious of what I put in my body now so always looking for ways to be healthier. Fruit juice is loaded with a ton of sugar so I want to make my own!!! I used it once already and made pineapple/strawberry juice. It was wonderful!!! Granted it took a whole pineapple to make 1 cup of juice. It was soo worth it. I saved the pulp and stuck it in the freezer. One day when I make a smoothie or bake something I can use it up. Next time I am going to try using grapes and see how that is. Thank you Simpson Clan that gave us the juicer! Their were a lot of names in that card. 

If you read my blog faithfully (as my Mother does) then you would know a while back I talked about a certain item I really really wanted. It was a crock from personal creations. Thank you Thank you mom!!!!!!

Love it so much! 

We received some much needed luggage from Rhett's mom and Erin & Meghan. Thanks ladies!! They even tried tricking me with an old antique suitcase because one of ours had not come in the mail yet. I was a little confused!! They also gave me an apron and the cutest pillow cases.

The heart on the apron says Rhett. Since I don't have any real tattoos this is my fake one! 

We received so many wonderful things but I won't bore you to pieces and list every single one of them. Thank you again for everyone's generosity!!! After the shower that evening my kitchen/dining room/foyer looked like a tornado came through my house. I spent quite a while organizing and cleaning everything. Happy to say also that Rhett received the waders he put on the Cabela's wish list. His family members gave them to him for his birthday!! He was so sad the day of the shower when I came home and no waders. I knew they had been bought and didn't even tell him. It is seriously amazing that I kept this from him!!

Special Arrival

First of all as promised here are the answers for the little game we played at the bridal shower.

I will always remember that Sunday September 18, 2012 was a very special day not only because of my bridal shower but because the world welcomed sweet little Avrie Amanda Lingle. 6 lbs 13 oz making her debut @ 5:48 am. I woke up around 3 am that morning used the restroom randomly checked my phone and whaaatttttt sure enough had a text from Allie saying she was in labor. I of course couldn't fall back asleep and took my cell back to bed with me. (put it on vibrate so it wouldn't wake Rhett) I kept waking up checking it for updates. Finally close to 7 am got word that she was here and received a picture. I won't go into too much detail but she had fluid on her lungs and some breathing issues so she was transferred from Perryville to St. Francis in Cape. Brandon went right away to Cape and the next day Allie was able to get discharged and head to the hospital to be with her little babe.  Rhett & I had time on Friday so we headed to the hospital for a visit.

She was soooo cute and tiny! We got a very nice visit in and had supper together downstairs in the cafeteria. Rhett went back to see her but I forgot to send the camera back with the guys so no pics of them.  I loved holding her and didn't really want to put her down. But the reality was I had to get up at 3 am to go to work and mommy daddy & avrie had a full night ahead of them. I am happy to say 1 week later of her birth and the family of 3 are all home together!! Yay!!! So excited and happy for them. I can't wait to spoil her to pieces now!!! I bought her the cutest little outfit it is pink scrubs and they say Dr. Avrie. Cute cute cute!! Congratulations Allie, Brandon, & Avrie. We love you! 

I think the countdown can officially begin now...................

Can You Play Along

 Since I love pictures and my Mom loves taking pictures it was appropriate to do a game with you guessed it PICTURES!! My task was to come up with one from every year we have been together. Now you would think ohh that is so easy. Not so much! Some of the years I immediately found what I wanted to use but others were quite difficult even finding 1 picture of just Rhett & I together. I thought on 2009 I was going to have to photo shop us together. At the shower their were 8x10 displayed for each picture so hopefully even though they are small on here you can see them ok. Play along and see how well you do. Rhett did not even get all of them correct. I think one or two people got half of them right. It was pretty fun!

Today is my Mom's b-day!! Happy Birthday!!! I am babysitting Cole and at lunch time we are going to take her some Lisa's. Later today I am going to drop my rings off at the Kay's Jewelers because it is time to be sent off to be soldered together. Eekkkkk that really means Oct 6th is getting closer and closer. Getting so excited but nervous too. I have to give the final count for our meal (at the wedding) this week. My programs are finally getting made, ordered part of the groomsmen's gift, almost all the invitations are mailed so hoping to start getting my RSVP cards back. Here is a look at our invites. I got them made at North County News. So happy with them! They are called send and seal. The bottom portion has a perforated edge and it gets ripped off and mailed back. Part of the reason I did this is because it only takes a post card stamp so the postage expense was less. I also just really liked the way it looked folded up with the seal.  They are also a light tan/cream color not black & white. Hope everyone enjoys them and please send back rsvps!!!!! 

The Fun has just Begun!!

 Well the weekend has come and gone and my shower was AMAZING!! I have the best family & friends in the world. I just want to say Thank You again for all the hard work everyone (especially my sista) put into making such a great day. And as Margaret said I did pretty much pick the day, place, food, etc....Haha!! I am not big on surprises & I am used to being involved in everything so I was ok with helping out. Jaimee was so excited about all the great decorations she made so I saw most of them ahead of time.

 I got some great love advice from my guests. The most frequent advice was don't go to bed mad at each other & always kiss goodnight. I will share all of them eventually but here are a few of my favorites! If you weren't at my shower and would care to share your love advice I would love to hear it!

The decorations all looked so great. 

Yes you can all drool now while looking at the picture of these awesome cupcakes!!! Tammy Grah made them so if you ever need yummy cupcakes give her a call. She also makes awesome cakes! The cupcake stand worked great. I think as soon as I got there that was the first thing I ran to look at.  We  had a lot leftover but they got dispersed pretty easily. The food was great. Thank you so much Darla for making the chicken salad! Thank you to everyone for making food! I hope everyone enjoyed it all. -Here are just a few of my guests-

This past weekend a surprise bachelor party was thrown in Rhett's honor! Last week on Tuesday his friend Derek aka Lumpy aka Best Man in the wedding texted me saying he wanted to throw a surprise party at our house. Well.....I had to work the weekend so immediately in my head I am thinking-clean house, make food, clean shed, keep a secret, oh my!! Derek did all the dirty work calling people and setting everything up. He had already asked Rhett to go hunting/fishing all weekend. In the meantime I plotted what food to make bc lets be real with only guys planning a party something will for sure be lacking. My sweet friend Allie was a lifesaver!!! She cooked for me and also let me hide things I made at her house. She also delivered everything to my house. I made the cheese ball Friday evening while Rhett sat in the living room watching t.v.  He had no clue!!! So absorbed in his hunting. It was great! I also made spinach artichoke dip but he saw that. I had to lie and say it was for work lol  I always make things for work so he didn't even suspect a thing. I am so happy the party ended up being on Sunday bc then on Saturday after I got off work I came home and finished things up.I had also asked Luke (Rhett's brother) and Jason (brother in law) to come early and set up things, buy some beer, and bring tables. I actually even got Rhett to help  me clean the shed on Friday!

When I came outside I was like whoa I'll take your pic!!!! Def worth getting woken up for. I am a fish lover!!! We ate some of it Sunday evening and it was pretty tasty.

Any hoo back to the party

I was a mess being at work when it got to be 11/1130. Thinking of all the things I could be getting done or preparing. It of course was all fine with out me being there. I was just nervous. When Rhett arrived he was very surprised. No idea a party had been planned for him. Mission Accomplished! So the guys spent the day  shooting clay pigeons, cooking, drinking beer, cleaning fish, and just hanging out. I got home around 430 and mowed grass for like 2.5 hours. It was gorgeous outside. Overall the party turned out very well. Now I am looking forward to my bachelorette party! 

I finally found a picture of Rhett & I from the year 2009. Thank goodness!!!! That was turning into quite an ordeal. Jaimee wanted one from every year we have been together. Yesterday I met with Becky Cowell about our cake for the reception in Red Bud. That was fun! The last few days I feel like I have 20 questions going on in my head nonstop. I think of things I need to do or questions I need to ask people and then I forget. Then I remember them and write them down so I have probably 10 lists laying around. I think I finally got all the labels printed out for the reception invites. Once I get all my stamps on them in the mail they go! Friday is the start of my 4 day weekend and I can't wait. 

It will be a busy busy day but hoping to get a lot done.
